Hello and welcome to Departure Menopause. This podcast is about navigating menopause health and body image change in the menopause transition from per to post with a neurodivergent affirming and weight inclusive approach. We're going to dive deep into health and hormones and neurons and nutrition, and we're also going to navigate the shifting emotions that come up from both lack of sleep and our changing bodies and brains.
Half the humans on the planet will have their own unique menopause experience, along with a cascade of physical and emotional evolution touching every aspect of our lives. I'm your host, Melinda Staehling. I am a menopause educator and health coach with a different take. Diving deep into the physical, emotional, and body image change during this transition with a critical eye on all the big menopause wellness bullshit.
I have a master’s in nutrition and am a certified nutrition specialist, so my menopause knowledge and frameworks come through that lens here at departure. I am your ticket agent, flight attendant, and I'm also your co-pilot because I'm highly perimenopausal. I am going through it too.
I started this show because so much of the menopause health, nutrition, and body image info I see is rooted in maintaining our bodies to be in some impractically perfect state of youth. Without acknowledging that this is a very vulnerable time.
